For almost 18 months the unsightly mess I called Beirut was ruining the landscape at Crayton Cove . Every legal move made by the City of Naples was countered by the developer.
All was legal but maddening as the ugly remains of the building stood defiantly while the legal circus continued.
Every morning I would drive by this mess and say how can we get it down!
Finally all the legal wrangling ran it’s course and the building as you can see has come down.
What I learned from this is the following. The law maybe right but it takes a long time for it to take effect. I also believe we must take a very long look at our ordinances, fines charged when they are broken and how to close the many loop holes that can be used to forestall justice.
