Cleaning Water Upstream

Reg Buxton toured the future C-43 Reservoir, with South Florida Water Management District personnel Phillip Flood and Collier Republican Chairman Russell Tuff, that is being constructed to clean the water before it goes downstream.

The project will capture excess basin runoff and Lake Okeechobee releases, improve timing and quantity of freshwater flows to the Caloosahatche Estuary, to help maintain proper salinity levels and maintain allocated water supply to the local agricultural area adjacent to the reservoir.

The project will encompass 10,500 acres
